According to Greek mythology, the Labyrinth imprisoning the Minotaur at Crete was created by master craftsman Daedalus.
However, Daedalus was part of another story, where his son used a device made by the craftsman & became a cautionary tale.

Icarus, known for 'flying too close to the sun'
According to the myth, Daedalus & his son Icarus were imprisoned in the labyrinth. In order to escape, Daedalus fashioned wings with features, blankets & beeswax. However, Icarus did not heed his father's advise, flew too close to the sun, melting his wings.
