According to Hindu Mythology and Vedas he was the first mortal to die. Incidentally he is worshiped by the Buddhist, Chinese, Tibetan, Korean and the Japanese people all around the world. One of the few temples dedicated to him is in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India.
